About Us
Our Story
I built RISE because I broke myself first.
Five years into serious lifting, deep into marathon training, I was doing everything the recovery playbook told me to. Foam rolling. Massage gun. Magnesium. Sleep I tracked obsessively. And I was still wrecked — legs that wouldn't clear between sessions, sleep that never went deep on the hard nights, the creeping sense that I was training hard and getting less out of it, not more.
That's overtraining, and if you've been there, you know it doesn't feel like weakness. It feels like betrayal. You're putting in the work and your body won't hold up its end.
So I did what the type of person who runs marathons and chases lifting numbers does: I went down the rabbit hole. Not into more tools — into the actual physiology of why recovery fails. And the same thing kept surfacing in the research that nobody in the recovery aisle was talking about.
The bottleneck isn't the muscle. It's the nervous system.
After a hard session, your body locks into fight-or-flight and stays there. Heart rate up, sleep shallow, muscles braced for a threat that already passed. Until your nervous system shifts out of that state and into repair mode, deep recovery physically can't happen. And here's the part that stopped me cold: every tool I owned worked on the muscle. None of them touched the switch.
The thing that did, improbably, was an old idea most athletes have only ever seen marketed as a wellness product — broad-surface acupressure. The research on it wasn't about relaxation or energy or any of the language that made me dismiss it for years. It was about the autonomic nervous system. The downshift. The exact mechanism I'd been missing.
That's the gap RISE exists to fill.
What RISE actually is

RISE is a recovery brand built on one principle: recover the nervous system, not just the muscle. Everything we make starts there.
We're a small, American-owned company, and we build for one kind of person — the athlete who trains hard enough that recovery genuinely matters, and who's tired of being sold relaxation when what they need is performance. That means no chakras, no "self-care," no wellness fluff. Just the physiology, the build quality, and the honest claim that this works.
Our products use athletic-grade materials made to hold up to daily use, and they're designed around how athletes actually train — hard days, taper weeks, comebacks from injury — not around a spa afternoon. We started with the tool that fills the biggest gap in most athletes' recovery, and we're building from there.
Why you can trust it before you've felt it

I know how this category looks from the outside, because I dismissed it for years myself. So we don't ask you to take our word for it.
Try it for 30 days. If it doesn't earn a permanent spot in your recovery routine, send it back — free returns, no hoops. Every product is backed by a 1-year warranty. The mechanism only works for people who actually use the thing, and the only way to know if your body responds is to put it under your back and find out.
I built this because I needed it to exist. If you're where I was — doing everything right and still waking up flat — it was built for you too.
